Labor activist. Born in Obama Town, Fukushima Prefecture, as the son of a carpenter, she grew up in a tenement house at Hitachi Mine. While working as a trainee nurse at Hitachi Motoyama Hospital, she became interested in the idea of ​​workers' liberation. Since 1921 (Taisho 10), she ran away from home three times and moved to Tokyo. She participated in the Gyominkai and Sekirankai organizations. She joined the Nankatsu Labor Union, organized by Watanabe Masanosuke and others. In 1923, she narrowly escaped death in the Kameido Incident and became a female factory worker at Toyo Muslin. The following year, she married Watanabe. She became a female factory worker at Nisshin Spinning's Kameido factory, and joined the Japanese Communist Party when it was rebuilt in 1951. She served as head of the party's women's department, and joined the Kanto Women's Alliance in 1952. She was arrested in August 1953. He was sentenced to seven years in prison in 1932, but refused to renounce his faith and was incarcerated in Miyagi Prison. He was released in 1938 and attempted to escape to China but failed. After Japan lost the war, he founded the Yotsugi Clinic in Katsushika Ward, Tokyo in 1956 (Showa 31), and later became a director of Yotsugi Hospital.

労働運動家。福島県小浜町に大工の子として生まれ、日立鉱山の長屋に育つ。日立本山(もとやま)病院見習看護婦のとき、労働者解放思想に目覚める。1921年（大正10）以来3回家出をして上京。暁民会、赤瀾(せきらん)会に参加。渡辺政之輔(まさのすけ)らの組織した「南葛(なんかつ)労働組合」に加わる。23年の亀戸(かめいど)事件で危うく死を免れ、東洋モスリン女工となる。翌24年渡辺と結婚。日清(にっしん)紡亀戸工場の女工となり、26年日本共産党再建の際入党。党婦人部長を務め、27年（昭和2）関東婦人同盟に加入。28年8月逮捕された。32年懲役7年の判決を受け、非転向を貫き、宮城刑務所に下獄。38年満期出獄、中国への脱出を試みたが失敗。敗戦後は56年（昭和31）東京都葛飾(かつしか)区に四ツ木診療所を創立し、のち四ツ木病院理事。
