This hot spring is located in Minakami-cho, Tone-gun, in northern Gunma Prefecture. It gushes out from the confluence of the Tanigawa River, a tributary of the Tone River, and the Hodonosawa River, at the southern foot of Mt. Tanigawa. The spring is a nitrate spring with a temperature of 43-60°C. As it is the trailhead for Mt. Tanigawa, it is often used by climbers, and with the nearby Tanigawadake White Valley National Ski Resort, it is also bustling in winter. It is about 2km from Minakami Station on the Joetsu Line. 群馬県北部，利根郡水上町にある温泉。谷川岳南麓，利根川の支流谷川と保登野（ほどの）沢との出合いに湧出する。泉質はボウ硝泉，泉温43～60℃。谷川岳の登山口であるため登山者の利用が多く，付近に国設谷川岳ホワイトバレー･スキー場がつくられたことから，冬季もにぎわう。上越線水上駅から約2km。【谷沢 明】
