A Trotskyist communist active in southern Vietnam in the 1930s, mainly in Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City). He was strongly influenced by Trotsky while studying in France, and after returning to Vietnam in 1933, he founded the French-language theoretical journal La Lutte (The Struggle), while also cooperating with the Southern Committee of the Indochina Communist Party led by Tran Van Giao in the Saigon Municipal Council elections. In 1935, the two factions won four of the six Vietnamese seats in the municipal elections. However, in 1937, he published an article criticizing the Communist Party's theory of a democratic united front, titled The Rebellion of the Popular Front, and broke with the Communist Party. In 1939, he completely defeated the Communist Party in the elections for the Cochinchina Colonial Council.

1930年代，サイゴン(現，ホー･チ･ミン市)を中心にベトナム南部で活躍したトロツキスト系共産主義者。フランス留学中，トロツキーの影響を強くうけ，帰国後の1933年，フランス語の理論誌《ラ･リュット(闘争)》を創刊するかたわら，チャン･バン･ザオの指導するインドシナ共産党南部委員会と，サイゴン市会選挙で選挙協力を行い，35年の選挙には両派でベトナム人議席6のうち4を奪った。しかし37年，共産党の民主統一戦線論を批判する論文《人民戦線の反逆》を公表して共産党と別れ，39年にはコーチシナ植民地評議会選挙で共産党系を完敗させた。
