Japanese: 脱水素酵素 - ダッスイソコウソ

Also called dehydrogenase. A type of oxidoreductase. A general term for enzymes that catalyze the dehydrogenation of organic compounds. Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD), its phosphate ester (NADP), cytochrome, etc. act as hydrogen atom acceptors. For example, alcohol dehydrogenase converts alcohol into aldehyde and simultaneously converts NAD into reduced NAD. Depending on the substrate that serves as the hydrogen donor for this enzyme,

(1) as the donor (oxidation of alcohol to ketone)

(2) Aldehyde dehydrogenase using -CHO as a donor (oxidation of aldehydes to carboxylic acids)

(3) Galactolactone dehydrogenase using as a donor (formation of unsaturated bonds)

(4) Glutamate dehydrogenase with Glutamate as donor (oxidative deamination)

etc.

デヒドロゲナーゼともいう．酸化還元酵素の一種．有機化合物の脱水素反応を触媒する酵素の総称．ニコチンアミドアデニンジヌクレオチド(NAD)，またはそのリン酸エステル(NADP)，シトクロムなどが水素原子の受容体となる．たとえば，アルコールデヒドロゲナーゼはアルコールをアルデヒドにすると同時にNADを還元型NADとする．この酵素の水素供与体となる基質により，

(1)　を供与体とするもの(アルコールからケトンへの酸化)

(2)　-CHOを供与体とするアルデヒドデヒドロゲナーゼ(アルデヒドからカルボン酸への酸化)

(3)　を供与体とするガラクトラクトンデヒドロゲナーゼ(不飽和結合の生成)

(4)　を供与体とするグルタマートデヒドロゲナーゼ(酸化的脱アミノ化)

などがある．
