The castle tower rebuilt (1935) in Hakuho Park (the castle ruins are a historical site), the ninja house moved from nearby areas and housing materials related to Iga-ryu ninjutsu, and Kagiya-no-tsuji in the northwest of the city, famous for the Igagoe Vengeance, are all popular tourist attractions. As the birthplace of the haiku poet Matsuo Basho, there are many related ruins, including the Haiseiden, and the Basho Festival is held every year on October 12th.
