Tadaki Tosa

Year of birth: Bunka 14 (1817)
A samurai of the Sendai domain during the late Edo period. In 1858 (Ansei 5), he became a chief retainer and attempted to restore the domain's finances. In the Boshin War of 1868 (Meiji 1), he attempted cooperation between the new government and the Aizu domain (Fukushima Prefecture) but failed, and instead worked hard to form the Oshu-Uetsu Reppan Alliance. After the Sendai domain surrendered, he was executed by beheading in Tokyo.

幕末の仙台藩士。安政5(1858)年家老職となり藩財政の立て直しを図る。明治1(1868)年の戊辰戦争では新政府と会津藩(福島県)の協調を図り失敗,奥羽越列藩同盟の結成に力を尽くす。仙台藩降伏ののち,東京で斬刑に処せられた。
