A perennial plant of the family Botryllaceae, found widely in Southeast Asia and Polynesia. It grows to a height of 70-100cm. The leaves are deeply cut into three lobes. The tubers contain a large amount of starch, but are bitter and inedible as is. They are edible after being crushed, washed several times, and refined.
