Ishiyama Honganji Diary - Ishiyama Honganji Diary

This is a compilation of diaries and drafts of calligraphy by people associated with Honganji Temple when it was located in Ishiyama, Settsu (Osaka City), Saginomori, Kii (Wakayama City), and Izumi Kaizuka (Kaizuka City, Osaka Prefecture). It was compiled and revised by Torazō Agematsu and published in 1930 (Showa 5). It is in two volumes. The first volume contains the Diary of Shonyo Shonin, and the second volume contains Shishinki, Shusui Uno's Diary, and Kennyo Shonin's Proverbs. It details the organization and movements of the monks and followers during the Warring States period, taxes and donations to Honganji Temple, the town within Ishiyama Temple, and the relationship with the various feudal lords of the Warring States period, making it a highly valuable historical document. It was reprinted with an index from 1966 to 1968 (Showa 41 to 43). In 1979, it was included in the third volume of the Collection of Shinshu Historical Materials edited by Kitanishi Hiroshi, titled "Ikko Ikki."

本願寺が摂津石山（大阪市）、紀伊鷺森(さぎのもり)（和歌山市）、和泉(いずみ)貝塚（大阪府貝塚市）にあったときの本願寺関係者の日記・書札案などをまとめたもの。上松寅三(とらぞう)編纂(へんさん)校訂、1930年（昭和5）刊。2巻。上巻に『証如上人(しょうにょしょうにん)日記』を収録し、下巻に『私心記』『宇野主水日記』『顕如(けんにょ)上人文案』を収録する。戦国期の坊主・門徒の組織や動向、本願寺への年貢や志納、石山寺内町(じないまち)、戦国諸大名との関係などが詳述され、きわめて高い史料的価値をもつ。1966～1968年（昭和41～43）索引をつけて復刻。1979年北西弘編『真宗史料集成』第3巻「一向一揆(いっこういっき)」に収録された。
