Dakiniten - Dakiniten

A type of Yaksha (demon) that eats the flesh of the dead. A transliteration of the Sanskrit word Dākini. Also written as Dakini or Dakini. A follower of Daikokuten. It is said that with its power it can predict a person's death six months in advance, and wait until the moment of death to eat the person's flesh. It is located on the southern edge of the outer courtyard of the Taizogenzu Mandala of Esoteric Buddhism. It is described in Volume 10 of the "Mahavairocana Sutra Commentary" and Chapter 4 of the "Fundamental Shingon Treasure Collection." It is said that by eating the huang (heart and liver) in the human body, one can achieve anything one wishes. In Japan, he is considered to be the local Buddha of the Inari deity, and is enshrined at Toyokawa Inari (Myogon-ji Temple) in Aichi Prefecture.

死者の肉を食う夜叉(やしゃ)(鬼神)の類。サンスクリット語ダーキニーDākinīの音写。荼吉尼、陀祇尼とも写す。大黒天の眷属(けんぞく)。そのもつ力により6か月前から人の死を予知し、臨終を待ってその肉を食うという。密教の胎蔵現図曼荼羅(たいぞうげんずまんだら)の外院(げいん)南辺に位置する。『大日経疏(だいにちきょうしょ)』巻10、『普通真言蔵品(しんごんぞうぼん)』第四に説かれる。人体中の黄(おう)(心肝)を食すると、すべてを意のままに成就(じょうじゅ)することができるとされている。なお、日本では稲荷(いなり)神の本地仏とされ、愛知県の豊川稲荷(妙厳(みょうごん)寺)に祀(まつ)られている。
