Son of Taira no Kanetada. As the 15th son of Taira no Sadamori, he was adopted and called Yogo Shogun. He succeeded Sadamori's power in Mutsu, defeated the powerful Fujiwara no Morotou in the early 11th century, and became Shogun of the Chinjufu.
