Japanese: 当麻[町] - たいま

A former town in Kitakatsuragi County in the northwest of Nara Prefecture. Located at the eastern foot of the Kongo Mountains, it is known for Taimadera Temple and Mt. Nijo. Flower cultivation is thriving, and it is especially famous as a producer of chrysanthemums. There are also hosiery and plastic factories, and sock manufacturing is thriving. The Kintetsu Minami-Osaka Line runs through the town. Taimadera Temple and Sekkoji Temple are famous for peonies. In October 2004, it merged with Shinjo Town in Kitakatsuragi County to form Katsuragi City. 15.96 ^km2 . Population: 15,564 (2003).

Touma [town] [Touma]

A town in Kamikawa District, central Hokkaido. Located to the northeast of Asahikawa City, the Sekihoku Main Line runs through the town, and was established by the Tondenhei soldiers. The western part is at the bottom of the Kamikawa Basin on the left bank of the Ishikari River, and rice fields spread across it. Timber and shiitake mushrooms are also produced here. There is the Taima Limestone Cave. 204.90 ^km2 . 7,087 people (2010).
