Occupation policy towards Japan

Occupation policy towards Japan
From the acceptance of the Potsdam Declaration on August 14, 1945, until the Treaty of Peace with Japan came into effect on April 28, 1952, the course of Japan's affairs was determined by the Allied Powers (effectively the United States). The policies during this occupation period are generally referred to as the Occupation Policy for Japan, or Occupation Policy, but here we will not limit ourselves to policy, but will also summarize the various aspects of this period, including the social climate. Article 7 of the Potsdam Declaration stipulated that "Once such a new order has been established and there is convincing evidence that Japan's war-making ability has been destroyed, such points within Japanese territory as the Allied Powers shall designate shall be occupied in order to secure the accomplishment of the basic objectives we herein prescribe," and MacArthur of the United States was appointed Supreme Commander of the Allied Powers for the occupation of Japan.
