A town in Hiroo County, Hokkaido. It lies between the Hidaka Mountains to the west and the Pacific Ocean to the east, and occupies the southern part of the Tokachi Plain from the center to the east. It used to be a horse-breeding area, but after the war it switched to dairy farming, and dairy cows are thriving. It also processes dairy products and other agricultural products. 北海道広尾郡の町。西に日高山脈，東に太平洋をひかえ，中部以東は十勝平野の南部を占める。馬産地であったが戦後酪農に転じ，乳牛の飼育などが盛ん。乳製品などの農産加工も行う。サケ，シシャモ，ホッキも産する。815.68km2。5977人（2010）。
