A town in Hiroo County, Hokkaido. It lies between the Hidaka Mountains to the west and the Pacific Ocean to the east, and occupies the southern part of the Tokachi Plain from the center to the east. It used to be a horse-breeding area, but after the war it switched to dairy farming, and dairy cows are thriving. It also processes dairy products and other agricultural products.
