...A mammal belonging to the family Thyropteridae. There are two species: the Honduran short-eared bat (Thyroptera discifera) and the Spix short-eared bat (T. tricolor) . They are endemic to the New World and are found in tropical rainforests from southern Mexico to eastern Brazil and on the island of Trinidad.
