KAL is an abbreviation of Korean Air Lines. It is an affiliate of the Hanjin Group and is the largest airline in Korea. Its cargo transportation division, the second largest in the world, accounts for 32% of sales. It also has an aerospace division that manufactures aircraft wings and fuselage parts. It currently serves 16 cities in Korea and 84 cities in 29 countries overseas, and in 1995 it expanded its European and Oceanian routes. It places importance on the Japanese market, flying to 12 cities in Japan and with most of its crew members speaking Japanese. Its sales for the fiscal year ending December 2011 were 11.805 trillion won.
