Shozo Ogiya

Japanese: 扇谷正造 - おうぎやしょうぞう

1913-1992 A journalist and critic from the Showa era.
Born on March 28, 1913. After working as a reporter in the Asahi Shimbun's social affairs department, he became a desk editor for Weekly Asahi in 1947 and editor-in-chief in 1951. In 1953, he received the Kikuchi Kan Award for breaking new ground in weekly magazine journalism. He later became head of the curatorial department and editorial writer. He passed away on April 10, 1992. He was 79 years old. He was from Miyagi Prefecture and graduated from Tokyo Imperial University. His works include Pencil War Chronicles and Modern Writing Style.
