Practice in practice - jijomaren

Japanese: 事上磨練 - じじょうまれん

The theory of practice of Wang Shouren (Yangming), a Chinese thinker of the Ming dynasty. It is about training oneself in concrete practice in order to establish a strong practical subject. This is something that all thinkers who advocate practical ethics claim, but Wang Yangming, in particular, stated it as a counter-position, concerned with the strong risk that the Neo-Confucian theory of practice would remain at the level of knowledge. The aim is for the subject to embody and understand the essence of the object in a state of tension with it, and to establish a correct subject-object relationship with it. It is not simply a blind emphasis on practice.

中国，明代の思想家，王守仁(陽明)の実践論。強固な実践主体を確立するために具体的な実践の場で自己練磨すること。実践倫理を標榜する思想家はだれもが主張することであるが，王陽明がとりわけ，朱子学の実践論が知識の域にとどまるおそれの濃厚なことを配慮して，反措定としてのべた。主体が客体との緊張関係のもとに客体の本質を体認理解し，それとの正しい主客関係を樹立することをめざしたものである。単なるやみくもな実践強調ではない。
