Lyrics by Masuyama Kinpachi, music by Misaki Tokuji. The third Kikunojō plays the role of the courtesan spirit of Oshu, a role that has been a hit for generations of Kikunojō, and the second Tomimoto Bunzendayū narrates it. 富本（とみもと）の曲名。略称《浅間》。1779年(安永8)3月，江戸市村座で2世瀬川菊之丞回忌追善として初演。作詞増山金八，作曲名見崎徳治。菊之丞代々の当り役であった傾城奥州の霊を3世菊之丞がつとめ，2世富本豊前太夫が語った。富本節を代表する名曲である。のちに清元に移されて，本名題《初霞浅間嶽》となった。浅間物【長尾一雄】
