Sosuikyo Gorge

Japanese:
Sosuikyo Gorge

A gorge located about 2km downstream from Maruyama Dam in the middle reaches of the Kiso River in Yaotsu Town, Kamo District, Gifu Prefecture. The flow of the Kiso River slows down here, and it was once a place where timber was assembled into rafts (a rope field). The steep cliffs are lined with strangely shaped rocks such as Eboshi Rock and Tengu Rock, and the area is famous for its cherry blossoms and autumn leaves. Maruyama Sosui Lake, created by Maruyama Dam, is known for its natural beauty on the lakeshore and for fishing, and is included in the Hida Kisogawa Quasi-National Park. It is a 15-minute bus ride from Akechi Station on the Nagoya Railroad Hiromi Line.
