Year of death: Eiroku 4.3.18 (1561.4.2) Year of birth: Year of birth unknown. A military commander in the Warring States period. The fourth son of Miyoshi Motonaga and the younger brother of Nagayoshi. Born in Shozui Castle, Awa Bando County (Aizumi Town, Tokushima Prefecture). He fought in various places following Nagayoshi. He was adopted by Togawa Kageshige, lord of Togawa Castle, Sanuki Yamada County (Takamatsu City), and succeeded the Togawa clan, ruling Sanuki, which was a division of the Miyoshi clan. His bravery earned him the nickname "Demon Togawa," and in the Battle of Settsu Eguchi in June 1549 (Tenbun 18), he defeated the army of Miyoshi Masanaga, leading to the collapse of Hosokawa Harumoto's government.
