This was one of the methods of trade in Nagasaki during the mid-Edo period. In essence, it was the same as the previous shiromonogae (exchange of substitute goods) and surplus sales. From 1729 (Kyoho 14), after the transaction of 30 Chinese ships with a fixed price of 4,000 kanme of silver, miscellaneous goods exchange was carried out at an average of 30 kanme of silver per ship. 40% of the price was copper (80% of the fixed price transaction was copper) and 60% was marine products. A miscellaneous goods exchange office was set up in Imauomachi, but in 1733 it was absorbed into the fixed price transaction (fixed price trade law), and the miscellaneous goods exchange office became a branch of the Nagasaki exchange office (payment office).
