A town in Usu County, Hokkaido. Lake Toya, Mount Usu, Showa Shinzan, and hot springs such as Benkei, Bankei, and Sobetsu are all within the town's borders. It is a tourist town in Shikotsu-Toya National Park. Apples are a specialty of the town, and pears, grapes, chestnuts, and other fruits are also cultivated. Area: 205.01 km2 .
