Founder of the Five Dynasties Later Tang Dynasty of China. Reigned from 923 to 926. Turk (Totsukutsu) The eldest son of Li Keyong, who was from the Shatuo tribe and competed with Zhu Quanzhong for supremacy. His given name was Li Cunxu, and Zhuangzong was his temple name. He succeeded his father in a fierce battle with the Later Liang dynasty, annexing the Hebei warlords and gaining the upper hand. In 923 (the first year of the Tongguang era), he destroyed the Later Liang dynasty and, as the legitimate successor to the Tang dynasty, made Luoyang his capital. He then combined Sichuan with the three major warlords of Henan, Hebei, and Shanxi, paving the way for the unification of the country under the Song dynasty. However, politics became corrupt, with eunuchs being reinstated and close associates playing politics, and he was killed when his own clan rebelled.

中国，五代後唐の建国者。在位923‐926年。突厥（とつくつ）沙陀部の出身で，朱全忠と覇を争った李克用の長子。姓名は李存勗（りそんきよく），荘宗は廟号。父の後をうけて後梁と激しく抗争し，河北軍閥を併合して優位に立った。923年(同光1)，後梁を滅ぼし，唐の正統的後継者として洛陽に都した。その後，四川をあわせるとともに，河南系，河北系，山西系の三大軍閥の統合に成功して，宋による統一への素地を作った。しかし，宦官を復活して側近政治を行うなど政治は腐敗し，同族が反乱を起こすなかで殺された。
