Zenrin Kokuhōki - Record of Good Neighborhood

This is a collection of diplomatic history and diplomatic documents written in Chinese by Zuikei Shuho, a Rinzai sect monk from Sakai, Izumi Province (Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture). It has three volumes. It has a preface written in 1466 (Bunsho 1), so the first draft was completed around that time, and the postscript in the middle volume suggests that it was completed in 1470 (Bunmei 2). The first volume is a chronological description of diplomacy, focusing on the exchanges of monks from ancient times to the end of the 14th century in 1392 (Genchu ​​9, Meitoku 3), while the second and third volumes contain diplomatic documents exchanged with Ming and Korea from 1398 (Oei 5) onwards. It is an important historical source of diplomatic history in the Muromachi period. It is well known that the diplomatic documents of Ashikaga Yoshimitsu are critical of Yoshimitsu for calling himself the King of Japan and for using the Ming calendar. It is included in Revised Historical Documents Collection 21 and Continued Gunsho Ruiju Volume 30, Vol. 1, and is edited by Nakajima Iku, New Revised Zenrin Kokuho-ki (1932).

和泉(いずみ)国堺(さかい)（大阪府堺市）出身の臨済(りんざい)宗の僧瑞渓周鳳(ずいけいしゅうほう)が著した漢文の外交史・外交文書集。三巻。1466年（文正1）の自序があるので、そのころにいちおうの稿本ができあがり、中巻の後記によって1470年（文明2）に完成したと考えられる。上巻は、古代から14世紀末の1392年（元中9・明徳3）までの僧の往来を中心とする外交の年代記的記述であり、中・下巻は、1398年（応永5）以降の明(みん)や朝鮮と往復した外交文書を収録している。室町時代の外交史の史料として重要である。なお、足利義満(あしかがよしみつ)の外交文書について、義満が日本国王を称したこと、明の暦を使用したことなどを批判している点はよく知られている。『改訂史籍集覧　21』『続群書類従　30輯(しゅう)上』所収、中島竦校訂『新訂善隣国宝記』（1932）がある。
