Originally a military term, strategy is a large-scale, long-term method for effectively achieving a goal or objective, and refers to the comprehensive preparation, planning, and operation of war. Tactics is a smaller-scale, short-term method for effectively carrying out actual operations and battles in accordance with the concept established by strategy. Today, the terms strategy and tactics have been extended to apply to a wide range of situations involving conflict other than war, and are also used in fields such as political organizations and even corporate activities.
