Also called captured goods. Items seized or detained from the enemy as a result of combat, and the warring nation is granted the right to acquire ownership of them. Items such as weapons, horses, military documents, and military supplies that were directly used or could be used in war, as well as state property, must be confiscated. Private property generally cannot be confiscated. If an enemy ship (including private property) is captured at sea, it is considered a captured good if it is confiscated through the capture procedure, and is not considered a war booty.
