Japanese: 船体運動 - せんたいうんどう

When considering the motion of a ship, the origin is generally set at the ship's center of gravity G, with the x- axis defined forward of G, the y- axis in the horizontal direction to the right, and the z -axis vertically downward. In this case, the translational and rotational motions in the x , y , and z directions are each given their own names, as shown in Figure 1. Normally, a ship's hull is symmetrical with respect to the longitudinal center plane ( the xz plane in the figure), so for example, even if the ship rocks in the z direction on calm water, no fluid force acts in the y direction or couples around the x and z axes act on the hull.

船体の運動を考えるとき，一般に船体の重心位置Gに原点をとり，Gより前方にx軸，右玄横方向にy軸，鉛直下方にz軸を定める。このとき，x,y,z軸方向の並進運動および回転運動には，それぞれ図1に示す固有の名称が与えられている。ふつう，船体は縦中央面(図のxz平面)に関して対称であるので，例えば，船体が平水面上でz方向に動揺しても，y軸方向に作用する流体力やx軸およびz軸まわりの偶力が船体に働くことはない。
