It is said to be the central idea of Yang Zhu, a Chinese philosopher of the Warring States period, and can be found in the Fan Lun Xun section of the Huainanzi. It is pronounced "to be true to one's nature and to maintain one's truth." It asserts that the most true thing for a human being is to maintain one's own comfort, and therefore one should not get involved in worldly matters at all, but should instead cultivate one's true nature.
