Nobuyoshi Ikenouchi
1858-1934 A Noh scholar from the Meiji to early Showa periods.
Born February 7, 1858. Older brother of Takahama Kyoshi. After serving as an Ehime Prefectural Assembly member and other positions, he moved to Tokyo in 1902. He established the Nohgakukan, published "Nohgaku," and devoted himself to nurturing the next generation of Noh performers. He was a director of the Nohgaku Association and a professor at the Tokyo Music School (now Tokyo University of the Arts). He passed away on May 17, 1934, at the age of 77. He was born in Iyo (Ehime Prefecture). He graduated from Ehime Normal School. His works include "The Rise and Fall of Nohgaku."

安政5年2月7日生まれ。高浜虚子の兄。愛媛県会議員などをつとめたのち明治35年上京。能楽館を設立して「能楽」を発行,後進の育成につくした。能楽会理事,東京音楽学校(現東京芸大)教授。昭和9年5月17日死去。77歳。伊予(いよ)(愛媛県)出身。愛媛師範卒。著作に「能楽盛衰記」など。
