Born February 7, 1858. Older brother of Takahama Kyoshi. After serving as an Ehime Prefectural Assembly member and other positions, he moved to Tokyo in 1902. He established the Nohgakukan, published "Nohgaku," and devoted himself to nurturing the next generation of Noh performers. He was a director of the Nohgaku Association and a professor at the Tokyo Music School (now Tokyo University of the Arts). He passed away on May 17, 1934, at the age of 77. He was born in Iyo (Ehime Prefecture). He graduated from Ehime Normal School. His works include "The Rise and Fall of Nohgaku."
