Kallikrates

Date of birth and death unknown. A Greek architect active in Athens in the 5th century BC. He was initially involved in the construction of the ramparts connecting Athens and Piraeus, as well as the repair of the Acropolis walls. During the Pericles era, he assisted Ictinos in the construction of the Parthenon (temple), and later designed the Temple of Athena Nike. It is also said that he designed the Third Temple of Apollo on the island of Delos.

生没年不詳。紀元前5世紀にアテネで活躍したギリシアの建築家。初め、アテネとピレウスを結ぶ城塁ならびにアクロポリスの城壁改修工事に携わった。ペリクレス時代イクティノスを助けてパルテノン（神殿）の造営を行い、その後、アテナ・ニケ神殿の設計を担当した。また、デロス島のアポロン第3神殿も彼の設計によると伝えられる。
