Japanese: 前期的資本 - ぜんきてきしほん

Capital that existed since ancient times in the form of commercial capital and usury capital before the establishment of modern capitalism, and is based on the premise of unequal exchange in the simple circulation process of goods and money. It is different from commercial capital and interest-bearing capital, which are merely a branch of industrial capital in modern capitalism. Representative examples include the usury capital of the Medici family in Italy to the Pope, and the usury and commercial capital of the Fugger family in southern Germany. In the 17th and 18th centuries, it came into direct conflict with modern industrial capital, and fell into ruin due to the civil revolution.

商業資本・高利貸資本の形態で古代から存在し，単純な商品・貨幣の流通過程における不等価交換をたてまえとする。近代資本主義における産業資本の一分枝にすぎない商業資本や利子付資本とは異なる。イタリアのメディチ家のローマ教皇に対する高利貸付資本，南ドイツのフッガー家の高利貸付兼商業資本などが代表例。17〜18世紀に近代的産業資本とまっこうから対立し，市民革命により没落した。
