In the United States, during the Civil War, inconvertible paper money, Greenbacks, was issued based on the Legal Tender Act of February 1862, and the gold contract became common because of the high inflation rate. Later, in June 1933, the US Congress abolished the gold contract by passing a Joint Resolution to Secure a Uniform Value for Coins and Currency of the United States, but in October 1977, the gold contract was revived as an addendum to a certain bill. ...
