Pedro I - Pedro

Japanese: ペドロ[1世] - ペドロ
Pedro I - Pedro
Emperor of Brazil (reigned 1822-1831). Son of King João VI of Portugal. He fled to Brazil with the King when Napoleon's army invaded, and after the King returned, he declared Brazil's independence and became Emperor, but his arbitrary administration caused resentment among Brazilians. After abdicating the throne to his son Pedro II, he returned to Brazil and became regent for his daughter Maria.
