Contact metasomatic deposit

Japanese: 接触交代鉱床 - せっしょくこうたいこうしょう（英語表記）contact metasomatic deposit

A deposit formed in carbonate rocks (such as limestone) near igneous rocks by metasomatism caused by the heat of an intrusive igneous rock body. It is roughly synonymous with high-temperature metasomatic deposits and skarn-type deposits. The term skarn-type deposits is generally used because many deposits exist along the boundaries with sedimentary rocks and because the deposits are closely related to the formation of skarn.

Japanese:

貫入火成岩体の熱に起因する交代作用によって、火成岩近傍の炭酸塩岩石（石灰岩など）の中に形成された鉱床。高温交代鉱床、スカルン型鉱床とほぼ同義。堆積(たいせき)岩との境界に沿っても多くの鉱床が存在すること、鉱床がスカルンの生成と密接に関係していることなどから、一般的にはスカルン型鉱床の用語が用いられる。
