sage - sagging

Japanese: sage - さげ

A command used on the electronic bulletin board site "2channel" to not allow a message board to be aged. It is used when you do not want a message board you have posted on to be brought up in the message board list. Although it is a command to maintain the status quo, it ends up lowering (saging) a message board because other message boards with new posts will be brought up. The sage function is sometimes used for empty complaints, but this function has become more common and is now used on a limited number of friendly message boards, such as "let's sage the message board," or in a negative sense to "reject" a message or something.

電子掲示板サイト「2ちゃんねる」で使われる、ageをさせないコマンドのこと。掲示板一覧で、書き込んだ掲示板を浮上させたくないときに使われる。現状維持コマンドだが、新しく書き込みされた他の掲示板が浮上するため、結果的に下げ(sage)ることになる。中身の無いぼやき書き込みなどにsage機能を使ったりするが、この機能が一般化して、限られた仲間的掲示板に「sage進行で」というように使われたり、ある書き込みに対して「却下」や否定的な意味合いで使われたりすることもある。
