Japanese: 石油タンク - せきゆタンク

A liquid storage tank for storing crude oil and petroleum products (gasoline, kerosene, etc.). Crude oil storage tanks are found at oil storage bases, while storage tanks for petroleum products are installed at refineries. They are cylindrical, with flat, round, conical, or other roof shapes. From a safety standpoint, sufficient consideration is given to the design and construction of tanks to prevent damage from fires, earthquakes, typhoons, etc. In addition to the regulations in JIS B 8501 (Structure of steel oil storage tanks (fully welded)), the Fire Service Act also provides detailed regulations regarding storage capacity, installation location, earthquake resistance, wind pressure resistance, and fire resistance for fuel oil tanks used in boilers, etc.

原油や石油製品(ガソリン，灯油など)を貯蔵するための液体貯槽。石油備蓄基地などでみられるのは原油貯槽であり，精油所などでは石油製品用の貯槽が設置されている。円筒形で，屋根の形は平板，丸形，円錐形などである。安全性の面からは火災，地震，台風などによるタンクの破損に対して設計･建設上十分な考慮が払われている。JIS B 8501〈鋼製石油貯そうの構造(全溶接製)〉に規定があるほか，ボイラーなどに使用する燃料油用のタンクについては，消防法による貯蔵容量，設置場所，耐震，耐風圧，耐火災に関する詳細な規定もある。
