Japanese: 浦郷 - うらごう

The central settlement of Nishinoshima Town in Dozen, Oki Islands, Shimane Prefecture. Former name of the town. In 1957, it was merged with Kuroki Village to form Nishinoshima Town. It is one of the two major fishing port towns in Oki along with Saigo on Dogo Island, and is known as the base for mechanized purse seine fishing and as a refuge port for fishing boats. Urago Bay is connected to the open sea by Funakoshi Canal, and serves as the gateway to Kuniga Coast (a scenic spot and natural monument) in the northwest. There are regular Oki Kisen services from Nanarui and Sakaiminato (Tottori Prefecture).

島根県隠岐諸島，島前にある西ノ島町の中心集落。旧町名。 1957年黒木村と合体して西ノ島町となる。島後の西郷と並ぶ隠岐の二大漁港町で，機船巾着網漁業の根拠地として，また漁船の避難港として知られる。浦郷湾は船越運河で外海と結ばれ，北西部にある国賀海岸 (名勝・天然記念物) への門戸となっている。七類，境港 (鳥取県) から隠岐汽船の定期便がある。
