A culture characterized by stone blade arrowheads, made by simply processing stone blades into arrowheads. It was widely found in northern Eurasia from the Mesolithic to the early Neolithic periods. In the Japanese archipelago, it is found only in eastern and northern Hokkaido, and is accompanied by Urahoro-style pottery and Memanbetsu-style pottery from the early Jomon period. On the Asian continent, it is found in various parts of Siberia, northeastern China, and Mongolia, and many ruins have been reported. When examined closely, differences in time and region can be seen within this culture. The earliest stone blade arrowheads in Siberia were made from microblades less than 1 cm wide, and date to the Mesolithic stage, when no pottery was associated with them.
