Oshika Taku - Oshika Taku

Poet and novelist. Born in Aichi Prefecture. His real name was Hidezo. He was the younger brother of Kaneko Mitsuharu. He dropped out of the Faculty of Economics at Kyoto Imperial University, and in 1922 (Taisho 11), he worked as a chemistry teacher at the former Tokyo Prefectural Eighth Girls' High School until 1935 (Showa 10). On the other hand, he published the poetry collection "Soldier" (1926). He then studied novels under Yokomitsu Riichi, and gained recognition with "Barbarian" (1935). He tackled the Ashio Copper Mine Pollution problem in "Watarase River" (1941), and further explored this theme in the publication of "The Yanaka Village Incident" (1957).

詩人、小説家。愛知県生まれ。本名秀三。金子光晴(みつはる)の実弟。京都帝国大学経済学部を中退し、1922年（大正11）旧制東京府立第八高女の化学教師を35年（昭和10）まで勤めるかたわら、詩集『兵隊』（1926）を刊行。その後、横光利一(よこみつりいち)に師事して小説を書き、『野蛮人』（1935）で認められた。『渡良瀬(わたらせ)川』（1941）で足尾鉱毒問題に取り組み、このテーマを追究して『谷中(やなか)村事件』（1957）を刊行。
