The name of an Islamic temple in China. Also called a worship temple. The first Islamic temple in China was built during the Tang dynasty, but the oldest surviving ones, such as the Huaisheng Mosque in Guangzhou and the Qingjing Mosque in Quanzhou, date from the Song and Yuan dynasties, but most were built after the Ming. Many of them resemble Buddhist temples in appearance, but the interior is a large hall without idols. Religious affairs are carried out by the head and worship leader, the Ahong (阿HEン), and a small number of apprentice Khalifas (海里ファン), and the finances are paid for and managed by the members.
