The following year, 1965, she won her first Record Grand Prix (the 7th) for her song "Yawara" with Koga Masao as composer, and in 1966 she had another hit with Koga Masao's "Kanashii Sake," demonstrating her dignity as the "Queen of Enka" and "Queen of Popular Songs." However, from the late 1960s through the 1970s and 1980s, due to changes in the pop music world (and the society surrounding it), she was unable to produce any new hits, and she was subjected to much social criticism due to the repeated arrests of her younger brother Kato Tetsuya and the rumors of her ties to organized crime. ...
