Ionon

C ₁₃ H ₂₀ O (192.30). A general term that includes various isomers, of which α-ionone and β-ionone are the most representative. A mixture was isolated from Boronia megastigma of the Rutaceae family, but it is usually synthesized by condensation of citral and acetone. α-ionone has a boiling point of 127°C (1.6 kPa). λ _max 229 nm (ε 14,300). β-ionone has a boiling point of 134°C (1.6 kPa). λ _max 294 nm (ε 87,000). It is used in fragrances as a substitute for iron, and β-ionone is used as a raw material for the synthesis of vitamin A.

C₁₃H₂₀O(192.30)．各種異性体を含む総称であり，代表的なものとして，α-イオノンとβ-イオノンがある．混合物がミカン科Boronia megastigmaから単離されたが，通常，シトラールとアセトンの縮合などにより合成する．α-イオノンは沸点127 ℃(1.6 kPa)．λ_max 229 nm(ε 14300)．β-イオノンは沸点134 ℃(1.6 kPa)．λ_max 294 nm(ε 87000)．イロンの代用として香料に用い，またβ-イオノンはビタミンAの合成原料に用いられる．
