Strasberg - Lee Strasberg

American director and acting teacher. Born in Poland, he moved to the United States at the age of seven. In 1931, he participated in the founding of the Group Theatre and became a director, and in 1949, he was invited to become the artistic director of the Actors Studio in New York City, which was founded by Elia Kazan and others. He developed the talents of actors through a training method that focused on the inner psychology, called the "Method," which was an improvement on the Stanislavski system, and trained many great actors, including Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, and Dustin Hoffman, and became famous as a genius American acting instructor. He himself appeared in the film "The Godfather Part II" (1974) and was highly praised for his acting skills.

アメリカの演出家、演技教師。ポーランド生まれ。7歳のときアメリカに移住。1931年にグループ・シアターの設立に参加して演出家となり、1949年以降はエリア・カザンらの創設したニューヨーク市のアクターズ・スタジオに招かれ、芸術監督となる。スタニスラフスキー・システムを改良した「メソード」と称する内面心理重視の訓練方法により俳優の才能を開発、マーロン・ブランド、アル・パチーノ、ダスティン・ホフマンら多くの名優を育て、アメリカの天才的演技指導者として名をなした。彼自身も映画『ゴッドファーザーPARTⅡ』（1974）に出演して、演技力を高く評価された。
