Stalker

Japanese:
Stalker
A stalker is someone who relentlessly pursues a particular person. They don't just pursue people they like, they also make pathological phone calls, break into people's homes, commit assaults, and sometimes even commit murder. In the United States, every state has an anti-stalking law. In Japan, there has been a growing movement to enact anti-stalking ordinances in prefectures, and in May 2000, the Stalker Control Law was enacted. Under this law, the police can warn people, and the prefectural public safety commission can issue a restraining order, against those who engage in "stalking behavior" (categorized into eight types of behavior) out of romantic feelings or resentment for not being able to satisfy those feelings. If they still do not stop, they can be sentenced to imprisonment of up to one year or fined up to one million yen.
