This refers to a mineral whose main component is tin. There are not many tin minerals, and the main ones are cassiterite (SnO _{2 )} , stannite (Cu ₂ FeSnS _{4 )} , herzenbergite (SnS), and stannoidite (Cu ₅ (FeZn) ₂ SnS _{8 )} . Of these, cassiterite is the most important ore mineral. Tin is concentrated with the activity of granite rich in ilmenite, and occurs in pneumatolytic-high temperature hydrothermal deposits and xenothermal deposits.

スズを主要な成分とする鉱物をいう。スズ鉱物はそれほど多くなく，そのおもなものはスズ石cassiterite SnO₂，黄シャク鉱stannite Cu₂FeSnS₄，ヘルツェンベルク鉱herzenbergite SnS，スタノイド鉱stannoidite Cu₅(FeZn)₂SnS₈などである。このうちスズ石が最も重要な鉱石鉱物である。チタン鉄鉱に富む花コウ岩の活動に伴ってスズは濃集し，気成‐高温熱水鉱床，ゼノサーマル鉱床などに産出する。
