A theory on Noh. Written by Konparu Zenchiku. Probably written in 1455. This is a representative example of Zenchiku's ideas, which took over Zeami's theory on Noh and tried to interpret it through Zen doctrine. It illustrates the evolution of Noh as beginning in nothingness and ending in nothingness. Todaiji's Shigama and Ichijo Kaneyoshi wrote annotations, and Nanko Soen, a Gozan monk who later returned to secular life, wrote a postscript. The author's own annotations were added later.
