Scotch (Scottish) terrier

Japanese: スコッチ･テリア[種]（英語表記）Scotch(Scottish) terrier

A domestic dog that originated in England (illustration). A terrier breed that originated from a common ancestor with the Skye, Dandie Dinmont, Cairn, and Yorkshire, it was established around 1860. It is also known for its appearance on whiskey labels. Although small, it has a good amount of bone mass and a powerful, masculine charm, but its temperament is gentle and cheerful, making it an ideal family dog and guard dog. Its head is large compared to its body, its voice is as thick as that of a larger breed, and it is characterized by its abundant mustache and small, upright ears.

原産地がイギリスの家庭犬（イラスト）。スカイSkye，ダンディ･ディンモントDandie Dinmont，ケアン，ヨークシャーなどと共通の祖先から出発したテリア種で，1860年ころ確立された。ウィスキーのラベルなどでも知られる。小型だが骨量に富み，力量感あふれた男性的魅力の持主であるが，性格は穏和，朗らかで最適の家庭犬，番犬である。頭部は体に似ず大きく，声も大型種並みに太く，豊富な口ひげ，小さな立耳が特徴。
