Japanese: 飯高[町] - いいたか

A former town in Iinan County, central Mie Prefecture. Occupying the upper reaches of the Kushida River, National Route 166 runs along the river valley, with small settlements scattered about. The Takami mountain range in the north is covered in virgin forest, producing an abundance of timber, and lumber and shiitake mushroom cultivation are thriving. Kahada Gorge on the Kushida River is a scenic spot with many centipede colonies and rhododendrons, and is part of Muro-Akame-Aoyama Quasi-National Park. In January 2005, it was incorporated into Matsusaka City along with Ureshino Town, Mikumo Town, and Iinan Town in Iinan County. 240.94 ^km2 . Population: 5,718 (2003).
