Waterborne diseases are those in which excretions or secretions containing pathogenic microorganisms are mixed into drinking river water or well water from sewage or sewage for some reason, and the disease is transmitted orally through the water, or through the skin by pathogenic microorganisms in the water. In the days before the water supply system was fully developed, river water was used for drinking, and if a patient with, for example, dysentery occurred upstream, dysentery patients often occurred downstream along the river. Typhoid fever, paratyphoid fever, bacterial dysentery, amoebic dysentery, polio, etc. can be transmitted orally through water. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
