Toshitaka Ikeda

Japanese: 池田利隆 - いけだとしたか

1584-1616 A daimyo in the early Edo period.
Born on September 7, 1581. The eldest son of Ikeda Terumasa. In 1605, his half-brother Tadatsugu entered Okayama Castle as a child and took over the administration of the domain as the governor of Bizen. In 1615, he inherited 420,000 koku of land in 13 counties in Harima (Hyogo prefecture), excluding the counties of Shiso, Sayo, and Ako, from his father's estates, and became the second generation of the Ikeda family to rule Himeji domain. He distinguished himself in the winter and summer sieges of Osaka. He died on June 13, 1620. He was 33 years old. He was from Mino (Gifu prefecture).

天正(てんしょう)12年9月7日生まれ。池田輝政(てるまさ)の長男。慶長8年異母弟忠継(ただつぐ)が幼少のため岡山城にはいり,備前監国として藩政を代行。18年父の遺領のうち宍粟(しそう)・佐用(さよ)・赤穂(あこう)の3郡をのぞく播磨(はりま)(兵庫県)13郡42万石をつぎ,姫路藩主池田家2代となる。大坂冬の陣・夏の陣で軍功をたてた。元和(げんな)2年6月13日死去。33歳。美濃(みの)(岐阜県)出身。
